How to Customize Drip Campaign in Dripify: Part 2 โ More On Editing Active Outreach Sequences

If you’re new here, here’s a quick recap 👇
Lately, we’ve been getting piles of questions from Dripify users like: “Can I edit a drip campaignonce it’s already live?”
Contents:
Some users wrongly assume their outreach sequence is already ruined beyond repair, but with Dripify, there’s always a way through 🙂
And yes, you CAN edit your outreach sequence anytime. For example, by adding actions to any step or branch in your outreach drip campaign, whether it’s active or paused.
In our “How to Customize Drip Campaign in Dripify – Part 1” guide, we explained what’s possible. But that’s not the full picture.
There’s more to editing active outreach drip campaigns in Dripify, so we’re back with Part 2 to show you the ropes and what else you can tweak.
What Else Can Be Edited In a Running Dripify Campaign
Before we zoom in, it won’t hurt to go over what’s inside the Dripify outreach campaign builder.
Broadly speaking, you’ll find two types of actions to design your sequence:

Simple Actions
👉 Simple actions — actions that don’t branch your outreach sequences on LinkedIn, including:
- Communication actions: Message, Send Email;
- Engagement actions: View Profile, Like a Post, Follow, Endorse;
- Administrative actions: Withdraw (pulls back pending invites), End (shuts down a particular outreach sequence branch).

Complex Actions and “Conditions”
👉 Complex actions and “conditions” — actions that create branches and split the drip campaign flow based on lead behavior or data availability, for example:
- Send Invite (branches based on connection status);
- Find Email (branches depending on whether a prospect’s email is available).

With this in mind, let’s move on to the edits you can make across different action types within your automated drip campaign.
Communication Actions
As mentioned above, communication actions are simple actions that represent any text-based interactions with your lead in a drip campaign, such as:
Send an Invite
Even if your LinkedIn outreach campaign is already running, it’s never too late to add, edit, or remove your personalized connection note. Simply click on the “Send Invite” action, and from there, you decide.
If you had a note before but need more personalization, you can update the text by adding/removing variables like First Name, Last Name, Position, or Company.

You can also insert additional personalization variables, such as City, Industry, Number of Connections, Top Skill, Company Followed by Lead, Mutual Connection Name, University Name, Profile Type (Free/Premium), Time in Current Role, Company Location, Number of Company Employees, and Number of Company Followers, by clicking the “More” icon.

All of the above applies to editing your primary invite note — the message you personalize using Dripify’s standard variables.
If at least one variable used in the main message template is missing, you can set an alternative message template to be sent instead. You can also edit or delete the message you set up previously.

💡 Pro-tip! On a free LinkedIn plan, keep both your primary and alternative notes within 200 characters. Paid plans extend this limit to 300.
Messages
The text of your messages can be edited and further personalized in the same way. Simply click on the “Message” action icon in your outreach sequence on LinkedIn.

The set of variables available for your primary message is the same as in the invite note and can be added in the same way.
💡 Pro-tip! Another thing you can update in your message is the attachments. You can choose which files to include by clicking the paper clip icon.

The supported file types include:
- 📄 Documents: CSV, XLS, XLSX, DOC, DOCX, PPT, PPTX, PDF, TXT, HTML, HTM;
- 🖼️ Images: GIF, JPEG, JPG, PNG, BMP.
💡 Pro-tip! Edit and refine your LinkedIn messages and alternatives — up to 5,000 characters per message.
InMails
These are the types of messages you’ll want to add to your LinkedIn drip campaigns to reach leads you’re not yet connected with, meaning you only get one shot to capture their attention.
That’s why the ability to edit and refine them on the fly is crucial.
By clicking the “InMail” action in your Dripify outreach sequence, you can edit the InMail subject line, message text, personalization variables (same as for invites and messages), attachments, as well as add/remove an alternative message.

💡 Pro-tip! You can edit the text of both primary and alternative InMails within the 1900-character limit.
Emails
Some say emails are a thing of the past, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Yes, they’ve been around for a long time; however, there’s still no more targeted way to either break the ice or strengthen communication.
💡 Pro-tip! Use it as a final touch in your automated drip campaign if your initial LinkedIn outreach didn’t work or if you need to warm up your lead further.
First impressions matter, but even if you slip, you can always polish your Dripify emails by editing the subject line, refining the wording, adding personalization variables (just like for LinkedIn invites and messages), or creating an alternative email.

On the bright side, Dripify emails offer more visual formatting flexibility than LinkedIn’s Send Invite, Message, and InMail. You can customize your text, format it, use bold or italics, and add live links to relevant files for quicker engagement.
💡 Pro-tip! Keep both primary and alternative emails under 1000 characters.
Delays Between Simple/Complex Actions
To keep your outreach flow natural and human-like, Dripify uses smart delays within its automated drip campaigns.
Imagine you’ve set a delay in one branch and need to adjust it (maybe the previous delay was too short and felt pushy, or too long and you risked losing your lead’s attention).
In this case, you can easily update it for both live and paused outreach drip campaigns.
All you need to do is click on the delay icon after the desired action, set the number of days or hours, and hit “Apply.”

If you want to remove delays between actions altogether, just set the delay to zero days and hours.

In your sequence, the absence of a pause between actions will automatically be marked with a “No Delay” icon.
Queued Leads
This isn’t exactly an action edit — the Queued Leads icon simply shows the number of leads waiting to move to the next step in your sequence.
However, we mention this as an edit option because it lets you manage the pool of leads “on standby”. For example, check who these leads are, and remove any you don’t want moving to the next step.
Simply click on the number of leads “in line for an action” (e.g., 215 in our case) to access them.

You’ll be immediately redirected to the lead list, where you can tag your leads, add them to another campaign, blacklist them, or remove them from the current campaign if you no longer want to reach out.

💡 Pro-tip! If you don’t want to reach out to certain leads in a sequence, you can delete them. However, before doing so, you have the option to look up their emails by clicking “Find Email” if you prefer a more direct channel.

End of Sequence Configuration
All changes within the End of Sequence action come down to either adding it to stop your flow or removing it if you plan to add more actions and extend the automated drip campaign.
But this is just a surface-level overview.
You can additionally change the End of Sequence configuration for the branch of leads who, say:
- didn’t accept your invite

With the default setting “Wait until the invite is accepted,” Dripify will move leads into the “accepted” branch whenever they accept (even months later, as long as the campaign is still active).
If the user selects the “Stop processing if an invite is not accepted yet, ” no further actions will be taken, even if the lead accepts. That’s because the lead will be marked as having completed the sequence.
- or, didn’t respond to the InMail by clicking on the End of Sequence action in the respective branch.

Final Thoughts
Now, the two-chapter saga of “Can I edit an active Dripify campaign” is officially over.
Hope you’re walking away with one clear takeaway: with Dripify, you CAN expand your sequences with new actions, refine messaging, adjust delays, manage leads, and even rework entire branches, whenever you need to.
And it’s not about “fixing mistakes,” but actively upgrading your outreach while it’s already in motion.
It becomes something iterative where you can warm up cold leads more naturally, break up pushy flows, extend engagement windows, and continuously improve performance without losing momentum.
Thanks to every user whose questions shaped this guide and to everyone choosing Dripify. You’re not just getting a tool, but a flexible outreach system you can fine-tune in real time.
